7 All time Best Films About Magicians And Illusionists

A talented illusionist is not about a rabbit in a hat or a card hidden in a sleeve. This is a masterly master who allows the public to believe that magic is real. We offer to trace the life and work of real and fictional illusionists.

  1. Magic in the Moonlight, 2014

Woody Allen comedy events unfold in the 20s of the last century. The influential British Catledge family travels to the Cote d’Azur – a favorite vacation spot of high society. There they meet a spiritualist named Sophie, who claims to have supernatural powers and is able to communicate with spirits. The catledges are fascinated by the girl, and family friends begin to see her as a threat. To expose the charlatan and find out what tricks she uses, the famous illusionist Stanley Crawford arrives in France.

Woody Allen endowed Stanley Crawford in the performance of Colin Firth with skepticism and some philosophical views inherent in Friedrich Nietzsche, mentioned several times in the tape.

  1. Now You See Me, 2013

Four talented magicians are gathered in one place by a mysterious patron. In an empty apartment, they find a sophisticated scheme that they have to realize thanks to their talents. A year later, the heroes unite in a group called Four Horsemen. They amaze the public with unprecedented illusions, and in the final they masterfully transfer one of the spectators to the bank’s vault, after which millions of dollars fall into the auditorium. Now that the line between illusion and reality has been erased, security officials will have to prove the involvement of magicians in the robbery, and at the same time to unravel the secrets of their thoughtful numbers.

In 2016, the sequel of the film “Illusion of Deception 2” was released, in which all the main actors of the first part returned to their roles.

  1. Oz The Great and Powerful, 2013

The creators of the film fantasized about what preceded the events described in “The Wizard of Oz”, and also tried to uncover the identity of the wizard and the story of his appearance in the magical land. According to the plot, a nomad circus magician named Oscar Diggs gets into trouble and tries to escape in a balloon. Subsequently, a hurricane overtakes him and takes him to the unprecedented country of Oz. Oscar meets some of the local residents and discovers he is expected to be saved as a real wizard from the evil witch.

Prior to James Franco, Robert Downey Jr. and Johnny Depp were considered the main role in the film.

  1. The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, 2013

In this tape, the tandem of the famous Hollywood comedians Ben Stiller and Jim Carrey played a desperate confrontation between the two magicians in front of the audience. One of them, Bert Wonderstone, performed for years in Las Vegas and gained popularity. But over time, he was tired and left without a stage partner. The second is Steve Gray, a representative of the fast-paced street magic. The number of his fans is growing rapidly every day. And he is about to oust Wonderstone and his ilk from their homes.

In the film, the famous illusionist David Copperfield appeared in a cameo, who played himself.

  1. The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, 2009

Clarence, a former magician who came to spend his last days in a nursing home, becomes Edward’s new friend. Both arrive in a protracted depression, but a new acquaintance will give a positive impetus to each of them.

The American illusionist Harry Houdini stood at the origins of the magician’s skill, giving impetus and inspiration to future generations of his colleagues. He was fearless and creative, boldly playing with death and performing crazy tricks that he himself invented. For life, Houdini managed to be accused of espionage and defamatory ties, while he himself was popular among viewers and respected by world celebrities.

In the three-part television movie, which tells about the life path of an outstanding illusionist, the role of Houdini was played by the Oscar-winning Adrien Brody. The actor studied illusion in childhood, and therefore without difficulty independently performed all the tricks shown in the frame.

A good magician is able to awaken a child in any person, making him wonder at the usual things again.
